HPRP and the Public Justice Center will be co-hosting Harvard professor Matthew Desmond as a part of the 2016 Jane Harrison Speaker Series on the Importance of Housing. At the September 29 event, Desmond will speak about his book Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City and his time spent  following the lives of landlords and tenants in some of Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods.

Following Dr. Desmond, a panel representing tenant, landlord, and judicial perspectives will discuss housing and eviction issues, and solutions, in Baltimore, where 7,000 families are evicted each year.
